AB has partenered with SMEC for the engineering, production and maintenance of two cogeneration systems installed in the district heating plant.
COMPANY
SMEC (Cinisello Balsamo Energy Multiservice Company) is a company born for the specific purpose of building a district heating network powered by a cogeneration system.
REQUIREMENT
The plant is part of a specific “Municipal Energy Plan” that aims to achieve energy and financial savings for users and, above all, contribute to reducing emissions from the individual boilers.
SOLUTION
The system is installed on a surface measuring approximately 2700 square meters and allows the simultaneous production of heat and energy with fuel savings, since, as far as thermal energy is concerned, it uses part of the heat generated by electrical energy.
The system comprises of two ECOMAX® 24 NGS units which allow the recovery of 2,600 kW of thermal energy from four methane gas boilers, which can yield up to 7,800 kW of thermal energy each.
Both engines and boilers are connected to stacks being approximately 20 meters long. The entire plant provides energy to about 9000 residential and commercial users.
