AB for Oil & Gas

With its ECOMAX® Special Gas line, AB offers the sector a solution for transforming a hazardous gas into a valuable energy source, guaranteeing safety, environmental sustainability and economic benefits. Cogeneration plants can be powered by the gas recovered during the extraction of oil.

The electricity produced from cogeneration can be used for the needs of the extractive site or sold to the network, whilst the thermal energy can be used for an initial separation of the oil on site and to keep it fluid, facilitating pumping operations, or also for the cooling circuit and all daily operations (related, for example, to hot water and district heating).

The treatment of emissions into the atmosphere is managed with innovative solutions for controlling pollutants, capable of eliminating carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and volatile organic substances present in the combustion fumes of special gas-powered motor-generators.

Methane is captured and transformed, preventing it from being released into the atmosphere without being adequately processed, thereby reducing the risk of sanctions for methane emissions. The damage related to the greenhouse effect and global warming is also limited, but the safety of the sites is also improved, avoiding the risk of uncontrolled explosions.

The availability of thermal and electrical energy ensured by the AB plants operating in the oil and gas sector has reached averages of over 95%.
